A Redeye Cicada hangs from the branch of an acacia. There were several Redeyes in the acacia but they didn't appear to be sucking sap from it.

There were many more cicadas much higher in the eucalyptus trees behind me. I decided that these ones were possibly having trouble getting their bulky bodies up into the eucalyptus trees.

They seem to fly like barely-guided missiles and crash into whatever gets in their way.
